Nature & Purpose Of Position Welcome Desk Ambassadors promote the services, programs, and initiatives of the Academic Success Center. Ambassadors support and empower all students to succeed academically and encourage the development of first‑year students in their high school to college transition. The responsibilities of Ambassadors are as follows:
Greet each guest and offer assistance as needed.
Provide information on services, programs at university-wide functions, and outreach events.
Answer incoming calls.
Recommend and connect students to appropriate services.
Assist students with making appointments.
Evaluate ASC emails and reply or forward to appropriate staff.
Contribute to the planning and execution of department events.
Aid students with appointment check‑ins.
Communicate effectively with office and other student staff.
Collaborate with other departments to meet student needs.
Promote ASC services and programs at outreach events.
Contribute to marketing ideas to build our brand via social media platforms.
Regularly attend trainings and staff meetings.
Create and maintain a semester schedule that correlates to the Ambassador job requirements.
Responsible for administrative support tasks not limited to maintaining the office, assisting office staff, maintaining some departmental records, light data entry, running on‑campus errands, preparing reports, and helping with other administrative tasks as needed.
Other Requirements For The Position
Punctual, approachable, and have a passion for helping others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work well in a team and on independent projects.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to operate a dolly or other means of moving heavy/bulky supplies and standard office equipment to support ASC/FYE events.
Must have completed a FAFSA Application for 2025.
