Health Location: Waterbury, VT, US Position Type: Limited Service Schedule Type: Full Time Minimum Salary: $29.15 Maximum Salary: $45.58 Overview
The Vermont Department of Health seeks a Public Health Analyst I for the Research, Epidemiology and Evaluation Unit, Health Statistics and Informatics Division. The analyst will focus on data related to the health of incarcerated individuals and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Vermont to inform public health practice and community outreach. Key duties include selecting statistical methods, performing epidemiological analyses, monitoring performance metrics, visualizing data, preparing reports, and delivering presentations. Responsibilities
Conduct epidemiological analyses of public health and demographic data. Provide interpretation of data and produce actionable insights. Write reports, summaries, and briefing documents. Deliver data‑related presentations to stakeholders. Respond to internal and external data requests. Offer technical assistance on data utility and meaning. Support annual grant writing and reporting. Perform other duties as requested. Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related social science discipline with at least 6 graduate statistics credits. OR Bachelor’s degree in statistics, health‑related or social sciences with 12 college statistics credits and one year of professional research experience. OR Associate’s degree plus two years of research/analysis experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, statistics, or related social science with at least 6 statistics credits. Background Checks
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation, including national criminal record checks, DMV, and abuse registry checks, in accordance with AHS Policy 4.02. Total Compensation
