About the Role As a Quality Inspector A, you will work with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure manufacturing and inspection activities comply with process work documents and applicable codes.
Perform in-process and final inspections and maintain quality records; act as a quality representative during internal, customer and regulatory audits.
Report to the Quality Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Perform incoming inspections for raw materials/components/castings received; confirm specifications through visual and mechanical inspections.
Ensure in-process inspections are completed per engineering specifications during production.
Investigate and validate or reject inspected parts in compliance with engineering specifications.
Scrap inspected parts per engineering instructions and applicable procedures.
Document and update inspection results by creating required reports and logs.
Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Maintain and verify calibrated measurement equipment; notify team members on needed repairs.
Perform non-destructive testing, including ultrasonic, dye penetrant, radiographic, visual, and magnetic particle.
Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years of college or technical school or equivalent.
2 or more years of experience.
Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
UT or RT as specialties.
NDE Certification is a bonus.
Experience using Farrow measuring equipment.
Capability of certification in any qualification.
Must have qualifications for Mechanical Inspection, Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II and Magnetic Particle II; can maintain these by qualification criteria. If not attainable, opportunity for substitute qualification selected by the Company.
Prior experience with engineering drawings including welding, welding symbols.
Understand shop drawings and sketches.
Compensation Estimated hourly rate:
$30 to $40
per hour, dependent on experience, qualifications and skills.
