Accounting Analyst
BioFire Defense is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to support a wide range of accounting functions, with a focus on equipment tracking, warranties, royalties, and accruals. This position will also play a flexible role in supporting broader accounting and finance responsibilities, which may evolve over time based on department priorities and individual skillsets. This position will be full-time in the office, with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment & Warranties - Maintain and track customer warranties under all agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of instruments, location, and status.
- Collaborate with Sales and Support to ensure correct financial treatment of warranties.
- Monitor revenue streams and support compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Royalties - Prepare and analyze royalty reports for accuracy.
- Track incoming and outgoing royalty payments.
- Interface with the legal department regarding royalties and patents.
- General & Evolving Accounting Responsibilities - Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting processes and controls.
- Participate in special projects or analyses as assigned.
- Support other accounting functions (e.g., revenue recognition, expense tracking, inventory accounting, or financial reporting) based on skill level and department priorities.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with degree, or 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills:
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations with minimal or no supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, queries, and data analysis.
