Supervises: None
Job Summary: To contribute to effective school-public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquires and visitors; to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the office.
Typical Duties:
- Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to the proper person.
- Answers office telephone and responds appropriately to requests for information.
- Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception area which includes a reading table stocked with current school district publications and periodicals of general interest.
- Reports immediately the presence in the building of any visitor who bypasses the reception desk or any suspicious activity or unusual behavior on the part of visitors.
- Performs such other clerical and office duties as required.
- Takes and transcribes dictation of various types, including correspondence, reports, notices, and recommendations.
- Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files, and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
- Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Business Education Training.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- At least two years experience as receptionist/secretary.
