Flagstaff Surgical Associates is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our thriving surgical specialty practice in General Surgery. Company Overview Flagstaff Surgical Associates is a medical specialty clinic with 32 physicians and advanced practice providers. FSA offers Urological, General Surgery/Trauma and Ear, Nose & Throat (including allergy & audiology) and Gastroenterology care. Overview Our General Surgery Physician Assistants (PAs) have a variety of responsibilities and duties that help support the needs of our patients and the community. Duties include, but are not limited to: Pre-operative Care: -Conduct patient histories and physical exams. -Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging). -Educate patients about surgical procedures, risks, and recovery. Intra-operative Assistance: -Assist surgeons during operations (e.g., retracting tissues, suturing, controlling bleeding). -Ensure sterile field maintenance and proper surgical instrumentation. -Perform minor surgical procedures under supervision. Post-operative Management: -Monitor patients in recovery and manage wound care. -Remove sutures, drains, and staples. -Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress. -Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care. Administrative Duties: -Document patient encounters and surgical notes. -Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care. -Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and healthcare regulations.
