Job Summary The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision during the 3:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m. shift.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Assist in the installation of new equipment.
Assist personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
Follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
Perform machine repair and installation such as replacing motors, rebuilding gearboxes, running threaded piping, welding piping, overhauling pumps, replacing packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps, welding and using a cutting torch.
Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed.
Diagnose and replace equipment parts with little or no direction.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
Use assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment; be familiar with and observe all company safety rules and regulations.
Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
All other duties as assigned.
