Senior Motor Equipment Operator – Order #: NY1515902 Job Summary This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of special and standard motor equipment, and responsibility for minor maintenance on the equipment. The employee must adequately drive and operate small and large trucks plus all types of heavy‑duty equipment used in the department, including but not limited to a loader, packer, roller, plow, backhoe, sweeper, Vactor, root cutter, or compressor. The employee also performs a variety of manual labor tasks. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a Foreman or other senior level employee and may provide lead supervision to Laborers and Motor Equipment Operators. The employee may be required to be on call twenty‑four (24) hours, seven (7) days per week. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years of paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent experience in the operation of medium and large trucks and heavy motor equipment.

Special Requirements Possession of a valid New York State Drivers License. Must possess a valid New York State Class A CDL with a Tanker (N) endorsement and no Air Brake restriction within six (6) months of the date of appointment.
