Specialized Behavioral Personal Assistant
Direct Support Professionals, college students in Child Development, Special Education, Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis, classroom assistants, DSP II, behavioral interventionists, and other energetic individuals with experience working with children or adults with challenging behaviors are encouraged to apply!
Job Description Direct support of behavior support plans to assist individuals with behavior challenges while supporting the client’s circle of support.
Responsibilities
Provides specialized behavioral respite services
Communicates ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties
Collaborates with clients and families to identify best care opportunities
Follows behavior support plan
Maintains data via summary notes and any data collection implemented by the behavior service agency
Maintains client records in accordance with state/federal/regional center regulations
This position is NOT allowed to perform housekeeping duties, medical care such as giving medication or taking pulse checks, etc. Some clients may require assistance with toileting or bathing. Staff may heat up items in the microwave but not prepare meals.
Qualifications
At least 6 months experience working with individuals with developmental challenges
Possesses a high school diploma and has completed 30 hours of competency‑based training designed by a BCBA, an associate’s degree in human, social, or educational services, or a related certification from an accredited community college or educational institution
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Ability to build rapport with clients
Strong desire to engage client in age‑appropriate activities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
CPR and First Aid certification
Current TB testing
Background check upon hire
Valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Employment Type Part‑time

Company Description Assessment, Consultation & Treatment is a small, growing group of clinicians in the San Gabriel Valley who provide comprehensive behavioral‑based services. Our team offers intensive behavioral and skills training, behavior consultation, using ABA, natural environment teaching, systematic desensitization and other behavioral methods. Services are provided in homes, communities, schools and residential settings for children, adolescents, and adults with developmental delays and concerns such as autism, intellectual disability, anxiety, and various neurological disorders. We are committed to individualized services, client environments, and high ethical and clinical standards.
