Excellent career opportunity to work as a full‑time Maintenance Worker II in the Village of Lake Zurich’s Public Works Department.
Position Responsibilities Responsibilities include a variety of tasks related to construction, repair and maintenance of Village buildings, streets, storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer and water systems, and water treatment facilities; landscape and tree maintenance; snow removal, street sweeping, and support for community special events. The position will be expected to operate a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, respond to evening and weekend emergency call‑outs, and perform scheduled weekend work as assigned on an overtime basis.
Position Qualifications Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred candidates should have working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair; be skilled in operating related tools; possess the ability to perform heavy manual tasks and understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must possess a State of Illinois Class “A” (CDL) driver’s license with airbrake and tanker endorsement within six months of hire date. Successful completion of a background check and post‑offer employment physical examination, including drug screening, is required.
Compensation and Benefits Starting annual salary is $58,801.00 ($28.27/hour plus OT) depending upon qualifications. Comprehensive benefits include employer-sponsored health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBSIL), paid life insurance, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and pension.
