Position Overview The City of Waco seeks an experienced professional to oversee the golf shop and concessions at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, providing technical, budgetary, and operational support, and coordinating events and daily operations.
Minimum Salary Minimum Starting Salary is $48,938.47 annually, depending on qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Texas Driver's License
4 years of experience working in the golf industry
2 years working in the public sector administrative support experience
Essential Functions
Manage golf shop staff; assign tasks and projects; train and evaluate staff’s skills; meet with staff regularly to discuss and resolve operational issues.
Manage golf shop merchandise and kitchen food and beverage purchasing, pricing, displaying, special orders; inventory controls and selling merchandise.
Assist with the budget process and monitoring.
Assist in planning and developing golf tournaments.
Prepare and verify deposits for processing.
Prepare payroll for departmental employees.
Act as Accounts Payable for department; pay monthly merchandise expenses.
Provide variety of management duties, technical support, and administrative duties for the department; make appropriate decisions based on work experience and training; duties may vary according to job assignment and individual skills.
Oversee department administrative workflow; apply knowledge of policies and procedures to organize and coordinate work and relieve department staff of administrative detail.
Exercise initiative and independent judgment in performing duties; apply judgment to resolving problems, analyzing data and making decisions; track department issues and assure effective communication of operational information.
Answer questions where judgment, knowledge and interpretation of City policies, procedures and regulations are necessary; respond independently to inquiries and resolve problems and customer service inquiries within scope of authority.
Maintain calendars and resolve complex meeting and travel schedules; coordinate meeting rooms and resources; coordinate development of meeting agendas, action item lists, and presentation materials.
Compose and create letters, memoranda and official documents from general direction, standard formats, copy, rough drafts and dictation; monitor and review accounting, budgets and expenditures.
Maintain department files; research files and computer databases; collect and compile statistical data; develop and create a variety of technical and statistical reports; update manual and computer records and tracking systems; assure all administrative actions are in compliance with City policy.
