Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.

Smiles and greets customers; learns their names when possible.

Assists customers with suggestions, requests, and enhancing the shopping experience.

Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to callers.

Works with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.

Operates the cash register accurately, scans products, and reports improper cash levels.

Redeems promotional coupons, receives cash, checks, and completes credit‑card charge transactions.

Counts back change, issues receipts, places merchandise in bags or boxes, and gives packages to customers.

Ensures adequate supply of silverware, condiments, and beverage cups; refills coffee service area supplies.

Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains a clean, neat work area.

Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.

Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.

Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties

Assists with bussing tables in Hickory House or Market Grille sit‑down areas.

May assist with running out orders to sit‑down area from all food stations.

Assists in other areas of store as needed.

Performs other job‑related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with few variables.

Proficient in arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages; able to make change.

Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies verbally or in writing.

Required Physical Requirements

Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force continuously.

Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction; depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.

Perform activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.

Working Conditions & Equipment

Fast‑paced environment, frequent exposure to temperature extremes and dampness, potential hazards from equipment, electrical shock, or cleaning chemicals.

Equipment used: pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax.

Wages and Other Information Hourly starting wage: $15.00 to $18.75 depending on experience.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
