Perform Dispatch Duties, which includes taking and processing load orders; planning, organizing and scheduling load / delivery times; calling carriers; preparing BOL’s and loading/unloading.

On a timely basis inform Transportation Manager and/or other department managers should any shipping / scheduling problems.

Advise customer and/or Marketing Department (email and phone) of customer service / scheduling.

Will assist the Transportation Manager with 24-hour phone coverage when needed. This includes being “on‑call” to cover the phones as needed during the week and weekends, whether they be transferred to the company.

Maintains records and files pertinent to DOT requirements; includes equipment registrations and driver qualification files; notifies drivers regarding expiration of medical cards and drivers.

Assist in maintaining records and files pertinent to the department and company.

Perform routine clerical work as assigned to maintain the department’s record keeping for example drivers logs, inspection reports, fuel usage, etc.

May be assigned to perform additional duties of various functions of the transportation department, i.e. picking up or delivering drivers to units at repair facilities, picking up parts for company vehicles.

Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

Perform other duties as assigned.
