Job Summary The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work under deadlines.
Job Duties
Process direct deposits, salary changes, terminations, wage garnishments, and employee verifications.
Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding all payroll matters.
Collaborate across departments/teams to ensure accurate data and reporting.
Collect, verify, and resolve timecard discrepancies.
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
Assist with audits and generate payroll reports as needed.
Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Previous experience in payroll or accounting strongly preferred.
Familiarity with UKG payroll software preferred.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of wage withholding orders preferred.
Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational, analytic, and problem‑solving skills.
Sound decision‑making skills.
Ability to multitask in an environment with specific deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a time‑sensitive environment.
Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records.
