Job Description As a General Maintenance Technician, the work you do will be felt by our guests and colleagues. You will be an ambassador for our brand by taking care of both the little things and the big things: ensuring guests’ requests are handled to their expectations, completing projects, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to repair requests in a timely manner. You perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the property’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for the guests.

Hourly Rate: $35.18

Maintain and repair all equipment using the applicable skill sets: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, kitchen, HVAC, laundry, boiler, painting, locksmith and pools/ponds. Assist with repairs and maintenance as determined by the Supervisor or as needed through service work checklists, preventive maintenance, mechanical challenges and operation testing.

Perform all preventive maintenance on equipment scheduled, i.e., service work, grinding, adjustments, etc. Inspect condition of equipment for repair and replacement.

Participate in departmental trainings on equipment to the satisfaction of the Supervisor. Report status of equipment to the superintendent through service sheets or verbal communications to ensure proper function and safety. Support hotel‑wide training programs including OSHA, Safety, Educational and Associate Enhancement programs to assure continual upgrading of department personnel.

Perform general repair work, including plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning repairs and maintenance.

Perform carpentry repairs and minor new work; maintain locks, keys and hardware, tile and cement.

Perform minor repairs and maintenance to elevators.

Maintain accurate documentation of equipment maintenance and weather readings.

Operate, maintain and repair boilers and associated equipment, including mixing, adding and analyzing boiler chemicals.

Update records of repairs and tasks performed.

Inventory and requisition supplies and parts as needed.

Perform maintenance requests as assigned.

Ensure overall cleanliness and maintenance of the resort exceeds expectations.

Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training.

Appropriate technical school is an asset.

Minimum three (3) years hands‑on experience working in various engineering skill sets.

Must be proficient with a minimum of 30% of the skill sets noted: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, kitchen, HVAC, laundry, boiler, painting, locksmith, pools/ponds, and all guest room‑related quick calls.

Experience in all phases of mechanical & electrical systems.

Must have and be able to maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.

CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.

Trade certification or license is preferred.
