Specialty Demolition Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview Traveling Specialty Demolition Heavy Equipment Operator with up to 100% travel and per diem, meals, and lodging provided.
Job Responsibilities
Operate and maintain heavy demolition equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, rollers, and trucks equipped with forks, booms, or hose attachments.
Lift, shear, process, and move materials using hydraulic implements.
Climb into and dismount from all equipment using built-in ladders or steps (heights 3-7 feet).
Start and shift engine, control steering, engage and release attachments, and perform hand signals to coordinate with the crew.
Use industry standard hand signals and communicate via radio or hand‑to‑hand signals as required.
Perform routine maintenance: lubricate, refuel, and clean equipment; make minor adjustments or repairs.
Load and unload construction and demolition materials, including concrete, metals, and debris.
Consult load‑rating charts before major lifts to ensure safe operation.
Assist in manual labor, such as moving equipment, grading, or cleaning the site.
Follow all safety protocols; identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
Communicate status of tasks, hazards, and equipment to field supervision and management.
Required Experience
5–10+ years of heavy equipment operation experience in a demolition environment.
Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time, averaging three weeks on the road and one long weekend home.
Ability to pass a background test and drug screening.
Medical ability to wear a half‑face respirator.
Competent in operating heavy machinery under variable weather conditions and lifting up to 50 lb.
