Maintenance Technician – Nights

Responsibilities
Ensure equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
Troubleshoot and repair facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis units, and other water filtration equipment.
Work directly with operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shifts.
Propose solutions to complex and recurring problems on production equipment to senior mechanics and management.
Use schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Repair equipment, fixtures, and systems; modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
Maintain industrial control systems and complete required work order paperwork, including part and material usage reporting.
Follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation; use personal protective equipment where required.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
May fill in for a production operator as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience in field or similar maintenance environment.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a maintenance position and managing people/projects.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Skilled in using shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.
Proficient with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
Willingness to serve as a technical leader and trainer within a specific plant or machine center.
Owns a personal toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred: 6 years of experience in field or manufacturing environment, 6 years in a maintenance position, and 6 years managing people/projects.
Preferred experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
Experience with VFDs, servo drives, servo motors, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, heat transfer, plastics processing, Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
Experience with HVAC systems and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
Skilled in fabrication (cutting, welding MIG/TIG/Stick).
Knowledge of 480 VAC & 24 VDC power systems.
Experience repairing VFDs, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (asi‑bus, can‑bus, profi‑bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
