Powell Industries, Inc., a leader in the custom design and manufacture of solutions for the management and control of electrical energy, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. This essential role focuses on enhancing our production processes, ensuring superior product quality and alignment with industry standards while driving significant improvements in manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a robust understanding of engineering principles and a proven track record of success in a manufacturing environment. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities. Design and implement cost-saving initiatives and quality improvement measures. Work closely with product development engineers to integrate new products into the manufacturing phase. Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results. Assess and ensure all manufacturing processes comply with government and environmental regulations. Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers. Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering issues. Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in CAD software and MS Office Excellent project management abilities In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO Strong interpersonal and communication skills Medical Insurance 401k Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
