Responsibilities Ensure operation compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain high production standards. Maintain high level of customer service and a positive donor experience in line with company values and culture. Keep work area clean and professional. Review and confirm donor identification and maintain confidentiality according to SOPs. Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. Label and verify each unit and sample accurately. Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, upholding quality and safety. Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, responding to alarms, evaluating alerts, handling donor adverse events, documenting exceptions. Monitor donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality. Maintain proper donor-to-product ratio to ensure safety and quality. Disconnect donor, manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols, including cleaning spills and proper disposal. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines; replace equipment from service if needed. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including machine logs. Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management. Maintain and restock adequate inventory on plasma carts. Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance. Triage machine alarms/alerts and perform routine quality controls (daily/monthly) on equipment. Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned. This Is What It Takes High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Any state‑specific certification or licensing required. Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health‑care environment, or equivalent education and experience preferred. Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties before performing duties independently. Strong customer service skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Accurate and complete documentation abilities. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort throughout shift, flexibility with schedule). Ability to work daytime, evening, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts frequently. Ability to perform venipuncture. Effective communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Use of all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Ability to view a video display terminal Perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills, e.g., drawing blood. Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
