Principal Associate, Compliance Transaction Tester Join Capital One to apply for the Principal Associate, Compliance Transaction Tester role. The US Card Compliance team is seeking an experienced Principal Associate who will lead and execute risk‑based compliance transaction testing under the leadership of a team leader, independently assessing business line adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and guidance. The role requires deep regulatory knowledge, design and conduct testing, critical thinking and judgment to assess compliance. It demands cross‑functional collaboration, strong relationships with partner teams, autonomy, meticulous attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to communicate complex fact patterns succinctly. Responsibilities Execute targeted, complex testing for line of business compliance requirements in alignment with team and program methodology. Demonstrate an understanding of business processes, control frameworks, and related regulatory and compliance standards. Manage testing schedules to ensure all tasks and reporting are completed within established timeframes and documented within systems of record. Systematically retain documents that substantiate test results. Review tests executed by colleagues for accuracy and adherence to test plans and procedures. Develop and execute test plans, continually validating and improving existing designs while also identifying new opportunities to test in high‑risk areas. Request and analyze data; support and initiate efforts to improve data sourcing and drive innovation with business partners and IT support teams. Identify and contribute to the implementation of new technologies and innovative concepts. Communicate results to Compliance Officers, Compliance Advisors, Legal, and Business Area Partners. Demonstrate strong time‑management, organizational, and prioritization skills; complete multiple concurrent tasks within close deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and detail. Exhibit strong problem‑solving and conceptual thinking skills. Qualifications Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. At least 3 years of experience in compliance testing, risk management, compliance monitoring, quality assurance, control review, or audit. At least 2 years of Microsoft Office or Google Suite experience. At least 1 year of experience interacting with senior management or business partners. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 4+ years of financial services consumer compliance monitoring, auditing, risk management, or compliance experience. 2+ years of experience analyzing data from various sources and making recommendations based on data. 1+ year of scripting experience in Python and SQL. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) accreditation. Salary McLean, VA: $117,300 – $133,900 (Compliance Tester III). Richmond, VA: $106,700 – $121,700 (Compliance Tester III).
