Overnight Community Resource Specialist Mass General Brigham (MGB) is a not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to patient care, research, teaching, and community service. We are currently seeking an Overnight Community Resource Specialist to support operational efficiency in behavioral health throughout our system. Job Summary Reporting to the Behavioral & Mental Health Inpatient Program Manager, the Resource Specialist remotely coordinates behavioral health services across MGB emergency departments, medical floors, and inpatient units. The role facilitates referrals, monitors capacity, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient throughput and access. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate referrals for various levels of behavioral health care for patients awaiting treatment across MGB emergency departments, medical/surgical units, and inpatient behavioral health units. Monitor system‑wide capacity to guide placement efforts. Communicate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams both within and outside of MGB. Document and track tasks in the medical record (Epic) or other designated platforms. Assist with data collection, analysis (Excel), and reporting (PowerPoint). Respond promptly to phone calls to the central behavioral health call line, emails/faxes to the central inbox, and Teams chats from systemwide stakeholders. Provide cross‑coverage of tasks related to central access (supporting admissions and bed searches) and central disposition (supporting inpatient throughput). Attend department meetings and assist with additional department tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Concentration in Social Work, Psychology, or Health Care preferred. Experience with the mental health care field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Excellent judgment and organizational skills; proven ability to multitask. Flexible and resourceful; works independently and as part of a team. Assessment and problem‑solving skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑stress, fast‑paced environments. Familiarity with mental health treatments, systems of care, and community resources. Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
