A growing, well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Costing Manufacturing Engineer to play a critical role in quoting, cost analysis, and continuous improvement across both new and legacy products. This is a hands-on, analytical position where your work directly influences pricing, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Pay and Schedule

Salary: $80,000$100,000 per year

Shift: First shift

Location: Onsite role in Worcester, MA

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Daily Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refine product cost estimates during the quoting and production lifecycle
  • Analyze materials, labor, tooling, equipment, and production processes to build accurate cost models
  • Identify cost risks, assumptions, and uncertainties within estimates
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and vendor quotes to support detailed cost analysis
  • Track actual costs versus estimates and prepare variance analysis reports
  • Lead manufacturing variance analysis and monthly cost reviews
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, sales, project management, and operations teams
  • Evaluate manufacturing workflows and propose optimized systems integrating labor, materials, and equipment
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean-based projects
  • Use statistical tools and production data to support informed decision-making
  • Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 57 years of experience in cost engineering, manufacturing estimating, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience with metal stamping, heat treating, plating, welding, mechanical assembly, and/or CNC machining preferred
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems (Syteline or similar), Microsoft Excel, SolidWorks, MS Project, and Outlook
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail
