Chief, Division of Dermatology Rank (Associate/Full Professor) University of Louisville School of Medicine The University of Louisville School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief of the Division of Dermatology within the Department of Medicine. This is an associate or full-professor rank, tenure or non-tenure track faculty position commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position Overview The Chief of Dermatology will provide strategic, academic, and clinical leadership for a growing division with strong opportunities for expansion across clinical care, research, and medical education. The successful candidate will foster an environment of collaboration and excellence while supporting faculty development, enhancing patient care services, and strengthening the division’s research and teaching missions. Responsibilities Provide visionary leadership for all divisional activities, including clinical operations, faculty recruitment, educational programs, and scholarly initiatives. Oversee and advance high-quality dermatologic care across outpatient and inpatient settings in collaboration with UofL Health. Support residency and medical student dermatology education programs. Promote and develop clinical, translational, or basic science research within the division. Manage divisional budget, operations, and resource allocation. Serve as a key member of departmental leadership and contribute to strategic planning efforts. Program Highlights: A well-established dermatology residency with strong clinical volume and access to broad subspecialty training, including dermatologic surgery, pediatric dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and inpatient consultative services. A Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology program with opportunities to expand surgical capacity and advanced reconstructive training. Multidisciplinary collaborations with medical and surgical oncology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, immunology, and transplant programs. Qualifications MD or DO degree (or equivalent) and board certification in Dermatology. Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice, academic scholarship, and teaching. A record of leadership experience appropriate to rank; candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level are strongly encouraged, though exceptional early-career leaders will be considered.
