Under direction of the Health and Human Services Director or Deputy Director to manage multiple systems of care within Behavioral Health; to direct program development, implementation and administration; oversee financial and administrative aspects of Department operations; to oversee quality assurance systems; to supervise the work of assigned clinical staff; and perform other work as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Some knowledge and abilities may be performed by positions at the entry (I) level in a learning capacity.
Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Path 1:
A graduate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, Public Administration, Health Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university. Two or more years of progressively responsible experience as a clinician in a relevant behavioral health and/or alcohol/drug program, or health and human services agency including program planning and evaluation, budget management, personnel management and performance evaluation, and policy development and at least one year of supervisory experience.
Path 2:
An undergraduate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, Public Administration, Health Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university. Four or more years of progressively responsible experience as a clinician in a relevant behavioral health and/or alcohol/drug program or health and human services agency including program planning and evaluation, budget management, personnel management and performance evaluation, and policy development and at least one year of supervisory experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Licensure in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Registered Nurse, Clinical Psychologist or related California licensure is required. Licensure must be current and maintained.
Compensation & Benefits:
100% FTE in a five-step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employee and dependents with co-payment by employee dependent on family status.
Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
Administrative Leave: per status and years of service.
Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan New Members.
Deferred Compensation: the County has a voluntary deferred compensation program.
