New Life Baptist Church in Hoisington, Kansas is seeking their next pastor. Candidates should meet the criteria below:

Qualifications:

The Senior Pastor of New Life Baptist Church will be a man who is called, licensed or ordained and set apart by God to the Gospel Ministry. He will be biblically grounded and evangelical in theology, able to affirm the “Baptist Faith and Message”. He must be committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in Scripture for Pastors and Elders.

The Senior Pastor will be called by the Holy Spirit and confirmed by a body of believers through licensing or ordination. (Acts 20:28, Titus 1:5‑9, 1 Timothy 3:1‑7)

The Senior Pastor will equip, educate, and edify the church as mandated in Scripture. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

The Senior Pastor will lead and serve in accordance with the expectations set forth in Scripture. (1 Peter 5:1‑3, 1 Thessalonians 5:12‑13)

The Senior Pastor will exercise biblical authority and carry out a Christian witness as set forth in Scripture. (Hebrews 13:17 and 2 Timothy 4:1‑5)

Preference will be given to a married pastor, and if he has children, they will reflect as a biblical example (Titus 1:6)

Bachelor’s Degree (or in process) from an accredited institution in theological studies

Have pastoral experience either as a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor or Youth Pastor from a like‑minded Baptist church

Responsibilities:

Serve as the principal leader and vision caster of the church

Visit with shut‑ins, hospitalized members, and potential members (encourage members to join you)

Be the principal communicator of God’s Word in public worship

Ensure the church is well led, cared for and protected

Partner with other leaders to empower and equip maturing members for significant service and ministry by discovering, developing and deploying spiritual gifts

Model the practice of personal evangelism and ensure the church is challenged and equipped to be obedient to the Great Commission

Officiate baptisms, weddings, funerals and the Lord’s Supper

Serve as a moderator and tie‑breaker on church boards or committees, but not a voting member (Family members are voting members)

Participate in Southern Baptist Convention activities

Participate in Kansas Nebraska Baptist Convention activities

Participate in the Central Baptist Association activities.

Manage church business in accordance to the Constitution and By‑Laws

Willing to be held accountable by elected church leaders
