Position Description A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jeannine Cavender-Bares, Organismic and Evolutionary Biology (OEB) Professor and Harvard University Herbaria (HUH) Director, at Harvard University. The position will involve investigating the physiological and functional variation of plants using spectroscopy and will include greenhouse work, field work, plant phenotyping, computational analyses of hyperspectral data. The work will incorporate comparative evolutionary biology using extant plant populations and Herbaria collections.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in biology, computational and data analytic skills, experience with spectroscopy, plant function, genetics, genomics, evolutionary biology or related field(s).
Additional Qualifications
Extensive independent research experience
Creativity and independence
Experience analyzing hyperspectral data and developing machine learning models
Genetic or molecular lab experience
Bioinformatics, or statistical genetics experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
