Town of Emerald Isle Lifeguard - 2026 Season Location:
Emerald Isle, North Carolina
Are you passionate about water safety, a strong swimmer, and dedicated to ensuring the well-being of beachgoers? If so, the Emerald Isle Fire Department is looking for individuals like you to join our team as Lifeguards for the 2026 season.
Position Overview As a Lifeguard in beautiful Emerald Isle, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our beach visitors. You will be responsible for monitoring designated swim areas, responding to emergencies, and providing assistance to those in need. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the community while enjoying the sun and surf.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor designated swim areas and enforce safety regulations.
Identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to prevent accidents.
Respond to water-related emergencies and provide water rescue as needed.
Administer first aid and CPR when necessary.
Educate beachgoers on water safety and beach rules.
Assist with crowd control during busy periods.
Collaborate with fellow lifeguards and emergency services.
Qualifications
Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
CPR and First Aid certification (will be obtained after hiring)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Previous lifeguard experience is a plus.
Seasonal Dates The 2026 lifeguard season will run from April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026. This includes weekends and holidays.
Work Schedule Lifeguards will work on a rotating schedule, with shifts typically ranging from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Flexibility with scheduling is essential.
Compensation Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
Hourly - $16.50
Paid training once hired
