Era Living is seeking a full-time CDL Driver/Recreation Assistant to become the newest member of our Life Enrichment team located in our Ida Culver House Broadview Community, Seattle, WA. Available shifts will be scheduled Tuesday - Saturday.

Primary Responsibilities The Recreation Assistant/Driver leads community recreation program activities; provides resident transportation in vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver License (CDL), and assists with the social programming and planning as a part of our Life Enrichment team.
Lead resident recreation group activities including cognitive enrichment activities, physical fitness activities and classes, and off-site outings
Organize shopping trip schedules, develop and maintain a list of scenic drives and destinations including directions and information about each drive/destination
Coordinate with the Life Enrichment Director to schedule entertainers, lecturers, and/or, any outside event provider and ensure event/lecture is well advertised and carried out
Provide transportation in vehicles requiring CDL for recreation trips for residents. Assist residents in and out of the bus or vehicle as required. Assist in maintaining vehicle checklists for community vehicles
Provide administrative support for the department
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possess and maintain a driving record compliant with Era Living Qualified and Authorized Drivers policy
Experience leading group activities and fitness programs, required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience using computers: word processing, Publisher and Excel
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to pass DSHS background check, required
Ability to provide safe toileting and mobility support for residents when on external community outings as required
Education and Experience
High school graduation or GED equivalent, some post‑secondary education preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License or able to obtain within 30 days of hire; must be 25 years’ old or older;
Experience working with older adults or persons with cognitive impairments preferred
Required:
First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire
Washington State Alcohol Permit or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
Possess or able to obtain as soon as possible upon hire:
Complete Caregiver Dementia and Caregiver Mental Health training within 120 days of hire
Must complete 70 hour course to earn a long term care aide certificate within 120 days of hire
** Not required if worked in boarding home setting in 2011
Complete 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) yearly (completed by birthdate)
