Position Summary
The dishwasher will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment used in the restaurant. It maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps the dish area free of clutter and organized, sets up dish stations including dish machines and sinks, and maintains clean and dry floors throughout the shift.
Type: Hourly, Full Time
Pay Rate: $18.50 - $20.00/hr
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate the dishwashing machine to clean all dishes, glasses, and utensils.
Hand wash any items that cannot be cleaned in the machine.
Ensure all dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before returning them to their designated areas.
Keep the kitchen and dishwashing area clean and organized.
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed.
Ensure the grounds are free of food or trash.
Empty trash barrels when full and at the end of each shift.
Monitor outside to ensure cleanliness.
Shine all stainless steel.
Maintain a clean dish area and continually clean and stock plates.
Prep food items for the menu as assigned by manager.
Check and refill all soap dispensers regularly.
Maintain filter and water in dish machine.
Assist with bussing tables as needed.
Keeping dining room clean and organized.
Qualifications
1 year restaurant experience.
Some prep experience (preferred).
Skills and Attitudes
Must be a team player.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to perform job duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Must be able to prioritize and organize.
Must be able to follow directions thoroughly.
Must be able to understand guest service needs.
Must be able to work cohesively as a team.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
San Diego County Food Handlers Card (must be obtained within 30 days of employment). Serve Safe certificate preferred.
Anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb.
Must be able to push and pull.
