Job Description The Department of Mathematics is seeking a part‑time Instructor to teach Precalculus with Trigonometry and a wide range of Developmental Math courses from Pre‑Algebra to Intermediate Algebra. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, leading and facilitating classroom discussions, and evaluating and grading student performance while maintaining a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in pursuing equitable student outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of Mathematics, and the ability to inspire and engage students. Position to be filled for Spring 2026 semester (January 15 – May 18, 2026).

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.

Select and develop appropriate materials for class use, including posting all course materials in the Moodle LMS.

Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.

Track and assess student progress based on quizzes, exams, and assignments.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications :

Master's degree in mathematics or a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a master's degree in statistics, data science, mathematics education, or a mathematics-related field such as physics, engineering, or computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.

Ability to meet the challenges of a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.

Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

Experience teaching Mathematics at the college level.

Expertise teaching the necessary content knowledge in Mathematics using a popular Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard). (Moodle training with respect to course organization and optimization will be provided as needed.)

Additional Information Compensation : Anticipated starting salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale. Part‑time, non‑benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position.
