CMS varsity teams compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), as a member of NCAA Division III. The Program is comprised is 21 varsity sports (10 men’s, 11 women’s) and supports a student population of over 3,200 and a student-athlete population of approximately 530.**CMS SWIMMING & DIVING**CMS is one of the most successful swimming and diving programs in the country, with 61 conference championships between the Athenas and Stags. Both programs are consistently ranked in the top 15 in the nation and produce multiple national qualifiers and have had three different individual national champions in the last three years. Historically, the Stags have a national title to their credit at the NAIA level and have been a national runner-up six times at the NCAA Division III championships while both the Athenas and Stags have had a top-five finish at nationals since 2010.**BASIC FUNCTION:**This position is responsible for assisting the Head Swimming & Diving Coach in all facets of the program, including but not limited to: organizing and conducting team training and practices, recruiting, team travel logistics, scholar-athlete development, and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to: prompt completion of all administrative paperwork, team travel logistics, creation of practice plans, scholar-athlete and team development, and collaboration with CMS athletics staff in the areas of sports medicine, business operation, compliance, equipment, facilities, and events.* Recruit and retain academically qualified student-athletes to the highly selective liberal arts institutions of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges.* Comply with all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, CMS Athletics, and the SCIAC (Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), reporting any violations or concerns to the CMS Compliance Department.* Remain in good standing of all required training and certifications, including but not limited to concussion management, mental health resources, and sexual violence prevention.* Represent CMS Athletic Department and the swimming and diving programs in a positive manner within the SCIAC as well as regionally and nationally.Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.**QUALIFICATION STANDARDS & SKILLS:****EDUCATION:** A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.**EXPERIENCE:** Previous collegiate participation and coaching are preferred.
