Driver Job Description
Position Summary
The Van Driver is responsible for drivingguests to designated locations, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and conciergeduties. Van Drivers must have strong analytical and navigation skills with theability to coordinate multiple pick-ups and drop-offs on a schedule undercontinuously changing circumstances. Drive the van according to scheduled vanruns and/or as needed for guests and accommodate guests during their stay in anattentive courteous and efficient manner.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This position could be eitherfull-time or part-time. All full-time positions are benefit eligible. Operationaldemands for this position require variations in shift days, starting times andhours worked in a week.
Essential Job Functions
Approach all encounters with guestsand employees in a friendly service-oriented manner.
Maintain high standards of personalappearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tagwhen working (per brand standards).
Comply at all times with Leximastandards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Greet guests' in a pleasant manner.
Load and unload luggage carts.
Load and unload van with luggage.
Check/store luggage for arrivals anddepartures using luggage tags.
Maintain current listing of local andarea attractions, special events and activities.
Provide information maps anddirections as required.
Maintain cleanliness of motor entrancefront door and lobby area.
Maintain cleanliness of van interiorand exterior.
Drive van as per scheduled runs.
Other duties as required.
Work Environment This position will be located at ahotel and primarily work in the kitchen or restaurant/bar area.
Physical Requirements
Frequentlyrequired to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools orcontrols, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel,crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
Occasionally liftand/or move up to 20 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 50lbs.
Specific visionabilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to sit forextended periods of time.
Reasonable Accommodations Reasonable accommodations may be madeto enable individuals with disabilities to perform the requirements of thisposition if such accommodations do not create an undue hardship for thecompany.
Travel No travel is expected for thisposition. Travel for annual training and conferences may be required.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalentrequired and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license forthe applicable state.
Minimum of one year driving experience
Must have an acceptable MVR (MotorVehicle Driving Record)
Must be able to convey information andideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and selectamong alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must maintain composure andobjectivity under pressure.
