Position Overview:
JS Clark Leadership Academy is seeking energetic, player‑centered Assistant Football Coaches (offensive, defensive, and position‑specific coaches welcome) who are committed to developing young men of character through the game of football. We are a growing K‑8 program with a strong middle school team that feeds directly into local high school powerhouse programs. Our Bulldogs play a competitive schedule, practice on a beautiful new campus field, and enjoy tremendous community support. This is a hands‑on coaching role perfect for former players, experienced assistants, or teachers/coaches looking to join a staff that values discipline, effort, and family.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct position‑specific drills and practice sessions designed to improve individual and unit fundamentals
Assist in planning and organizing daily practices, game plans, and seasonal schedules
Help secure facilities, equipment, film, and resources needed for practices and games
Assist with middle school recruitment and retention (8th grade identification & development for high school placement)
Serve as the primary communication link between head coach, players, and parents regarding schedules, injuries, eligibility, and player updates
Provide on‑field coaching, real‑time instruction, and film‑based feedback during practices and games
Motivate student‑athletes daily, building toughness, teamwork, and Bulldog pride
Chart tendencies and maintain statistics/Hudl tags during games to support player development and game planning
Assist in building weekly game plans and scouting reports using Hudl and other scouting software
Conduct or co‑lead position meetings, film sessions, and team strategy discussions
Uphold all LHSAA rules and JS Clark Leadership Academy standards of conduct
Required Qualifications
Must be CCEP certified or willing to get CCEP cert.
Previous football coaching or playing experience (high school or higher level)
Passion for developing young men both on and off the field
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, schemes, and modern coaching techniques
Ability to pass background check and complete all LHSAA/LDOE coaching requirements
Reliable transportation and availability for weekday afternoon practices and Friday night games
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching offensive line, defensive backs, linebackers, or special teams
Hudl proficiency (tagging, playlist creation, scouting reports)
Current or former teacher at JSCLA (or willingness to substitute/teach) – teaching positions may be available
Strength & conditioning background or certification
Connections with local high school programs (we love coaches who help our 8th graders land at the best high schools)
Compensation
Competitive stipend (one of the highest in area for middle school assistants)
Opportunity for additional paid roles (substitute teaching, after‑school tutoring, strength coach, media/broadcast support)
Game jerseys & gear provided
