is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support our fleet of offshore helicopters. The position is based in Broussard LA but will involve travel to our airbases along the Gulf Coast. The schedule is 14/14.

Summary Working with or without supervision in performing tests and repairs, navigation, auto pilot, compass, radio transmitting and receiving components in accordance with diagrams, manufacturers specifications, FAR’s and FAR 145 Repair Station Manuals, using electrical measuring instruments, wiring diagrams and hand tools. All work performed will consistently comply with company policy and procedures.

Examine equipment for damaged or malfunctioning components, loose or broken connections and wires.

Attach test equipment to unit being tested, turnknobs on equipment to specified settings, and observedial or digital readings to test radio circuitry for defects.

Test equipment for factors such as power output, frequency power, noise level, audio quality, and dial calibration, using oscilloscopes, radio frequency and watt meter, ammeters, and voltmeters.

Replace defective components and parts, such as transistors, coils, and integrated circuits, using soldering iron, wire cutters, and hand tools.

Remove and replace defective units that are not repairable.

Insert plugs into receptacles and boltor screwleads to terminals to connect radios and equipment to power source, using hand tools.

Turn setscrews to adjust receivers for sensitivity and transmitters for maximum output. May install, test, adjust, modify, and repair intercommunication systems

Repair aircraft and related equipment in accordance with the manufactures and company directives. Assure that maintenance discrepancies are properly recorded in the aircraft maintenance records.

Read and interpretmanufacturers and FAR 135 maintenance manuals, 145 repair station requirements, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience on Bell 206, 407 Series aircraftand a working knowledge of the S-76 Series model aircraft.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Maintain a current and valid Airframe and Power plant Certificate from the FAA. Maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

Other Qualifications May be required to work at locations other than assigned base including overnight travel offshore.
