The Archdiocese of Milwaukee
The primary responsibilities are to plan, organize, and implement an effective instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and reach their full academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
Share and support the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school
Teach and maintain a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to sharing Catholic Christian values
Create a faith-filled environment that engages the whole student
Promote a welcoming classroom environment that encourages an interdisciplinary and respectful culture of learning.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Communicate high expectations for learning
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Observe and evaluate students' performance and development
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Supervise student activities within the classroom and other areas as assigned, enforcing high expectations for student behavior at all times.
Provide appropriate feedback on work.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. Adapt instructional content and teaching strategies to suit individual and class needs.
Communicate via phone, email, and in person with families regarding students’ academic progress.
Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations. Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
Adheres to Code of Ethical Conduct
Professionalism in attire, communication and demeanor
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in teaching or a relevant field
Be appropriately certified or certifiable by the State of Wisconsin
Participates in and meets the requirements of Sustaining the Mission and maintains the appropriate level of certification
Skills and Qualifications
Witness of Gospel values
Active participation in a Christian religious affiliation
Enthusiasm for teaching
Mature judgment and emotional stability
Sensitivity to loving, understanding, and working with children and adults of varying temperaments.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others
Adheres to Code of Ethical Conduct
Completion of background check and Safe Environment training
Must report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
