Role Summary Under light supervision, monitor ingredient, in-process or finished product quality through analytical testing. Perform simple to moderately complex wet chemistry techniques (sample preparation, extraction and analysis). Perform moderately complex chemical analyses using analytical equipment. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation. Prepare standards and controls. Record, compute and evaluate data as well as data input into LIMS. Prepare tables and graphs of data as appropriate. Work under direction of a professional staff member.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities
Be comfortable operating/maintaining lab equipment and working with chemicals.
Good mathematical skills.
Demonstrated ability to use relational databases.
Knowledge of LIMS is a plus.
Demonstrated ability with word processing (MSWord) and spreadsheets (EXCEL).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, track and plan.
Attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
Able to periodically accommodate unusual work hours and work overtime as needed on occasion.
Experience & Education B.S. in Chemistry (preferred) or related science field
