James Madison College is hiring four student assistants for a summer program for high school students. The program will run for two weeks in July 2026 (exact dates TBD). The high school students will live on the MSU campus, take classes in the morning with JMC faculty, and participate in extra‑curricular activities on campus and in the surrounding area in the afternoon and on the weekend. The program is part of the JMC Academy for Civic Education (JMC‑ACE), funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education: https://jmc.msu.edu/news/2025/11/jmc-ace.

Responsibilities

Live on campus for the two weeks of the program

Provide academic and residential life support to the program participants

Provide administrative support to program faculty

Plan and lead co‑curricular activities

Participate in planning meetings during the spring 2026 semester (approximately 20 hours during the semester)

Qualifications

JMC students, junior or senior status preferred, 3.0 GPA or higher

Experience working with summer camps and high school students is a plus
