What you’ll do as a Fuel Tank Wagon Driver... As a Fuel Tank Wagon Driver for Wilcox + Flegel, you will make deliveries of bulk fuel products to customer locations. You will be the face of our organization to many of our valued customers and a critical piece of our mission of “Creating Lasting Partnerships with our Customers and Communities.”

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

Loads and unloads tanker/totes with lubricant products, both bulk and various package styles adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.

Operates box truck and stake bed trucks according to Company policies and state/federal laws. Transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Company procedures.

Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, keep nozzles and other related articles as necessary.

Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities as required by Company policy.

Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, fuel, tires and tank related items.

Reports any equipment malfunctions/concerns to Warehouse Manager and/or Fleet Manager.

Knowledge of and the ability to use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle and use spill kits and fire extinguisher.

Perform specific tasks as assigned by Warehouse Manager.

Always give all customers prompt and courteous service and use tact and diplomacy in dealing with Wilcox & Flegel Team Members and guests.

Promote and support Company image standards.

Adheres to all city, county, and state regulations.

Follow the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with Warehouse Manager.

Must be able to climb in and out of truck, operate gear shift and brake & gas petals.

Stay familiar with the Company Policies and Procedures.

Ensure Warehouse Manager is made aware of any operating discrepancies.

Properly posts and verifies all hours worked daily.

Work in a safe manner at all times and report all accidents immediately.

Critical Core Competencies and Skills:

Meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements, pass substance abuse screening and agree to random substance abuse screening as required by Company Policy.

Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skill

Must be highly organized with strong ability to multi-task

Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment; agile, flexible and resilient

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to speak and communicate using devices supplied by the Company.

Able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records.

This position has been designated as a Safety Sensitive Position. This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing, as well as random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. The results of this testing will be a condition of employment.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have Class A CDL with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC

Preferred Education and Experience:

Prefer two years of experience hauling hazardous materials.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations (note if Required or Preferred):

Must have Class A CDL

Preferred:Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC

Must meet or exceed and maintain minimum acceptable company MVR criteria
