Summary of Position Milton Academy is in search of a head coach for the Junior Varsity Baseball team for the spring of 2026. The baseball program competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC). The head coach will oversee the junior varsity team and work in collaboration with the head coach of the varsity team for the overall program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Manage the JV baseball program under the direction of the Head Varsity coach
Maintain athletic rosters. It is the coach's responsibility to check attendance, note discrepancies and report any changes to the athletic department.
Design and implement practice plans for team along with assistance from assistant coach
Coaches are required to submit comments for all students to be included in grade reports following the conclusion of the season
Oversee and mentor assistant coaches
Follow all safety practices and Academy policies as outlined in the school’s Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including the policy against hazing and bullying
Other duties as assigned

Education/Certification/Licensure Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience Required:
A minimum of three years of proven experience in the sport of baseball
Preferred:
Experience working in an independent boarding / day school
Required Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated computer expertise, including proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
Receptive to supervision and professional development.
Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
Physical Abilities
Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements.
Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
