Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a full-time
Lower School Co-Teacher
beginning August 2026. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12 th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400. The Lower School Co-Teacher is responsible for assisting a Lead Teacher in developing and implementing an appropriate instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the Lower School Principal. Typical Duties
Provide assistance and instruction to students in a Lower School classroom. Support and implement lesson plans and monitor student performance. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and environment. Update and maintain student academic records and performance metrics. Communicate regularly with colleagues regarding student progress. Provide an engaging and positive learning environment that encourages student success. Maintain discipline in accordance with the School’s code of conduct. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare classroom for class activities. Maintain and update bulletin boards to showcase student’s artwork. Maintain safe environment supervising students on the playground. Other duties, as assigned by the Lower School Principal or the Head of School. Required Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education or related field. Demonstrate a proactive and dynamic teaching style. Work collaboratively with classroom Lead teachers and the Lower School team to innovate instructional programs and teaching methods. Use differentiated instruction to reach all types of learners. Deliver student-centered teaching, positive classroom management and imaginative assessment methods.
