Branch Lead
role at Bellco Credit Union supports the Branch Manager with operational procedures, audits, sales and service goals.
Branch Lead
provides coaching, resolves escalated issues, and assumes managerial duties in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
Supports the Branch Manager with operational procedures and assists with operational duties, including audits.
Supports branch sales and service goals by training and developing branch staff.
Provides on‑spot coaching to staff regarding member referrals, sales, and operational integrity.
Resolves escalated issues and keeps the Branch Manager informed.
Assumes managerial duties in absence of the Branch Manager.
Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to both internal customers and members during interactions.
Effectively oversees branch operations, audit scores, and compliance with procedure manuals.
Manages teller balances, emergency cash release, and after‑hours support.
Serves as a back‑up to the Branch Manager for daily huddles, goal setting, sales calls, and staff engagement.
Handles member issues/complaints and provides solutions.
Supports staff in identifying cross‑sell opportunities.
Manages digital (phone and virtual) appointments, ensuring timely start.
Identifies branch efficiency opportunities, conducts workflow analysis.
Understands and communicates loan and deposit products.
Monitors compliance risk, identifies discrepancies with BSA policies.
Monitors cash flow and volume to meet member needs and mitigate liquidity risk.
Makes account‑opening decisions beyond frontline authority.
Maintains training on opening/closing procedures.
Inspects frontline transactions for accuracy.
Communicates escalations to appropriate parties.
Maintains knowledge of lending processes, security, fraud procedures.
Tracks and reports sales and operational productivity.
Performs frontline duties as needed.
Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
Qualifications / Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent; high preference for 2+ years teller/operations experience.
One year sales and customer service experience, preferably in financial services.
Loan experience preferred.
Strong operational skills.
Willingness and ability to sell products and services, coach others.
Clear verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Accurate and efficient data entry, update member financial records.
Maintain teller drawer accurately.
Knowledge of Excel, Word and other computer programs.
Working Conditions Position may require changes in hours or location to meet member needs.
