About the Role
A Cleaning Technician's primary focus is to clean and restore our customer's personal property and belongings (contents) back to a pre-loss condition from damage sources such as water, fire, smoke, storms, or other disasters. This is done through the hard work of our team of professionals as well as state of the art technology and chemicals that help clean, eliminate odors, removes stains, and restore personal belongings. The Contents/Cleaning Team is often the first team to respond in the process by arriving on site to document what is salvageable and non-salvageable (trash) and pack-out the belongings. Salvageable belongings are then inventoried, cleaned, and stored in boxes and crates in a climate-controlled facility until the pack-back (returning of personal belongings) is scheduled to take place.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Inspecting, sorting, documenting, and packing of personal property (contents) from fire or water damaged properties.
Packing-out salvageable personal property, ensuring no damage during loading and transport.
Cleaning and inventorying of personal property.
Labeling and documenting items, boxes, and containers (crates) according to specified requirements.
Wrapping of furniture or other larger items
Returning contents to location as per customer request (pack-in)
Structure (building), job site scrap/material cleaning, and general cleans.
Operation of company vehicles ranging from minivans to box trucks
Cleaning and sanitation of work area and equipment
Other duties as needed (related)
Experience, Skills, and Others
1 year + of cleaning and/or moving experience preferred, but willing to train the right person.
Ability to occasionally pull a trailer or operate a forklift (or be trained for).
Ability to complete projects and/or tasks in a timely manner with or without supervision.
Strong attention to detail, precision, and overall craftsmanshift/quality.
Ability to problem solve and adapt to unexpected changes or challenges.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work and collaborate in a team setting.
Ability to act professional, show integrity, have a positive attitude, and show respect and empathy.
Strong punctuality.
Must not have any restrictions prohibiting work in customer's homes, commercial sites, government entities, etc., or have history of theft.
Must be safety minded.
Physical Demands
Lift (constantly) 5-10 lbs., lift (frequently) 10-30 lbs.
May involve significant stand/walk/ push/pull.
Occasional climbing on ladders or other height equipment, overhead motion.
Consistent balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling.
Exposure to weather with temperatures most commonly ranging from mild/moderate to occasional short-term extreme cold/heat.
Exposure to noise levels ranging from minimal to moderate.
Pay
Starting pay is typically $16.50 to $18.00 + per hour, but largely depends on experience, diversity of skillsets, industry knowledge, and abilities.
Overtime (time and a half pay) for any time worked over 40 hours per week.
Hazard pay rate (when required to be in full personal protective equipment).
Fully paid training.
90-day review (potential for early wage adjustment if applicable).
Annual reviews scheduled thereafter within department review cycle (potential for wage adjustment if applicable).

Schedule
40 to 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically 7:30am through 5pm. Occasional 6:30am starts to accommodate any travel distance.
Occasional over-nights with hotel room paid and per diem provided.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education
High school or equivalent.
License/Certification
Valid and current Driver’s License (legal ability to drive is required).
Reliable transportation for getting to and from the office/shop.
