Position Purpose
Seeking Agriculture Science teacher in a three‑teacher department to help direct and manage the agricultural science program for assigned campuses. This teacher will also teach welding classes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Demonstrated competency in agricultural science
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of agricultural science and technology
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to supervise agricultural field experiences
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Plan and teach classes in Animal Science and Freshman welding
Oversee Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAEP)
Develop and help train LDE and CDE teams
Serve as advisor to local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter
Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students and colleagues
Help maintain Ag farm with crop production
Benefits
