Diet Technician
$30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
Job Summary Golden Modesto Care Center in Modesto, California is currently seeking a Diet Technician to support our residents’ nutritional needs under the guidance of the Registered Dietitian. This role will provide nutrition support, conduct assessments, and ensure residents receive individualized dietary care that promotes their overall health and well-being.
Essential Functions
Provide ongoing nutrition support to staff and residents.
Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments through chart review and collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
Develop and implement individualized dietary care plans.
Provide nutrition education and consultation to residents, staff, and families regarding nutrition principles, diet modifications, and associated risks or concerns.
Inspect kitchen and dietary service areas as needed (PRN) to ensure compliance with food code regulations, under the guidance of the Registered Dietitian.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Ability to effectively communicate with residents and/or their families.
Long-term care experience required, including comprehensive knowledge of Section K on the MDS, resident/patient assessments, and care planning.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations and guidelines.
Education, Licensure, and Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (as required by state regulations).
Credentialed Dietetic Technician (DTR) preferred.
Long-term care experience strongly preferred.
