SERE Trainer (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Instructor) A SERE Trainer is a professional specialized in the instruction of Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) techniques. Their mission is to prepare civilians, humanitarian personnel, or deployed forces in hostile environments to respond effectively to critical situations such as capture, isolation, unlawful detention, or operational crises.
They combine practical expertise in navigation, shelter building, first aid, fear management, psychological resilience, and escape protocols with real‑world field experience. A SERE Trainer leads intensive training sessions, realistic simulations, and evaluations to ensure participants develop resilience, autonomy, and the ability to react to complex threats in non‑permissive environments.
Responsibilities
Design and delivery of SERE training modules tailored to client profiles.
Facilitation of practical field sessions: simulation, navigation, decision‑making under pressure, etc.
Coordination with the multidisciplinary team of instructors (HEAT, TCCC, Bootcamp, etc.).
Performance evaluation and operational feedback to participants.
Strict compliance with safety, confidentiality, and training traceability protocols.
Minimum requirements
Previous experience as a SERE instructor (civilian or military).
Technical training in security, special operations, or crisis management.
Ability to lead groups in adverse conditions and under high levels of demand.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Strong physical and mental fitness.
Preferred qualifications
International certifications in security or operational response.
Experience in multinational environments, NGOs, missions, or hostile zones.
Competence in HEAT, TCCC, or advanced first aid.
Availability for travel.
