Position Summary
Plongeur (Dishwasher) The Plongeur plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across Kitchen Table and related dining areas. While this is an entry-level position, it is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen and the delivery of safe, high-quality meals. By ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen spaces are clean and sanitized, the Plongeur helps prevent cross-contamination and supports a positive dining experience for every guest. What You'll Do
Kitchen & Dining Support
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing area at all times.
Operate commercial dishwashing machines and hand-wash items as needed.
Ensure all kitchenware, cookware, utensils, glassware, and cups are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and readily available for use.
Maintain excellent hygiene standards to support food safety and prevent cross-contamination.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or supply needs to kitchen leadership.
Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and resetting dining areas to support meal service.
Keep bus carts, dish storage areas, and service stations clean and organized.
Campus & Facility Care
Support the cleanliness and upkeep of Kitchen Table spaces, including walk-ins, service areas, storage units, restrooms, dining rooms, and patios.
Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and removing trash.
Assist with organizing and storing deliveries using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods.
Team & Culture
Work efficiently and calmly during peak service times.
Communicate respectfully and build positive relationships with kitchen and service teams.
Follow service standards aligned with the 1440 Multiversity Cuisine Profile and organizational values.
Adhere to all sanitation protocols, safety guidelines, and SOPs.
Give and receive professional feedback with openness and respect.
May assist with
light food preparation tasks
as directed, such as washing, peeling, portioning, or organizing ingredients.
