Interventionist Teacher - IDEA Frontier Academy (Immediate Opening)

Role Mission
The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of two or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by two years in one school year. The IDEA interventionist plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA’s AP for All initiative. This approach to academic intervention provides systematic, appropriately intensive assistance to children who are at risk for or underperforming compared to appropriate grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers will use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research‑based instruction for students who continue to have difficulty.
This position is grant‑funded with Title I Part A and funding may be extended. All duties and responsibilities are allowable and allocable to the grant. The employee will work solely (100%) on grant‑allowable activities.
What We Offer Compensation
Starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $57,500. This role is eligible for stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500 to $4,000 each. Opportunities and incentives through the Teacher Career Pathway may add up to $10,000 in additional compensation.
Additional hourly compensation is provided for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

What You Bring – Competencies Qualifications
High level of content‑area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution required.
Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
State certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to diverse situations in the school environment.
What You’ll Do -- Accountabilities Responsibilities
Teach Critical Student Intervention instruction using model programming for small groups of students in grades 3‑8 who are academically at risk in reading and/or math, including general education, 504, Response to Intervention, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
Teach district‑approved research‑based intervention to small groups in grades K‑2 (dependent on campus assignment) who are at risk in reading and/or math.
Teach district‑approved research‑based intervention to small groups in grades 9‑12 (dependent on campus assignment) who are at risk to graduate, including all instructional groups.
Teach Dyslexia instructional service minutes in small groups for Special Education Dyslexia students as a provider of Dyslexia Instruction.
Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate support for students requiring intervention.
Implement state learning standards, IDEA curricula, and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
Learn, master, and deliver relevant content and grade‑level curricula, core content objectives, and texts.
Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
Use formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly; update gradebook weekly.
Communicate student progress with students and families weekly.
Use technology for communication and educational purposes to improve achievement and task management.
Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned with campus‑wide initiatives, while developing students’ character and sense of community.
Help shape a school‑wide culture fostering a productive and enthusiastic learning environment.
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for their communities.
Host tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.
Participate in weekly manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, before and after‑school duties, and school‑wide meetings and functions.
Engage in summer and year‑long district, school, and personal learning and development.
Commit to a minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.
Additional responsibilities may include after‑school tutoring or Saturday school based on scholar needs.
