College Store Assistant

BASIC FUNCTION
(Approximately 20 hours a week) Assist College Store Coordinator in the overall operation of the College Store.
QUALIFICATIONS Required – High school diploma or equivalent and keyboard skills.
Preferred – Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Be available during college store hours to assist students, staff members and the public.
Become familiar with all products available for sale in the store.
Analyze items that are being offered in the store and provide recommendations for new and improved.
Become proficient with the Point of Sale system.
Assist with ordering, pricing and stocking incoming products.
Assist with custom orders required by college programs and staff.
Assist with keeping the website information current.
Order and check-in office supplies for stock and staff members.
Email students that receive packages.
Care for overall store appearance by cleaning, restocking and taking out garbage.
Operate efficiently and accurately.
Take periodic inventory of college store.
File invoices and other documents as needed.
Provide recommendations for process improvement.
Help College Store Coordinator supervise work-study students.
Order, cook, and maintain prepared food items as needed.
Clean and sanitize food equipment as needed.
Serve on college committees as appropriate.
Any other duties as assigned by the College Store Coordinator.

O - Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
O - Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, and outward.
O - Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
O - Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
C - Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
C - Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word either on the telephone or in person.
C - Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds.
N - Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, such as roofs, catwalks, etc.
C - Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
C - Visual Acuity: View computer and/or close visual work less than 18” of distance.
N - Travel: By means of transportation to on- and off-campus facilities, agencies, businesses, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS None. Worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as in typical office or administrative work.
