Overnight Custodian
candidates for the following shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:30am (starting Sunday 11pm ending Friday 7:30am) Position Compensation
- Starting at $15.00 per hour, dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. This position also receives an additional $2.50/hour for the evening shift differential. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with UVA benefits. Job Summary
Custodians perform exceptional housekeeping services in assigned areas through safe work practices while using proper housekeeping techniques. The position maintains good working relationships with customers, staff, students, and supervisors. Custodians complete special project work as assigned and gain increasing efficiency with cleaning techniques, supplies, and equipment. Duties Include
Maintain offices, classrooms, restrooms, public areas, or other assigned areas in clean and orderly condition. Remove trash, clean bathrooms, wipe down surfaces, dust, vacuum, etc. Apply proper methods and materials. Maintain clean and orderly housekeeping closets and equipment and keep inventories of supplies, requesting additional supplies as needed. Report all repairs and pest control needs, and any housekeeping-related violations by residents, guests, or staff. May perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing bulbs, or more complex tasks including operating cleaning equipment such as buffers or waxers. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Minimum Requirements
Education: None Experience: Some experience with basic housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning carpets, cleaning bathrooms and removal of trash in a workplace setting is preferred. Additional Requirements
Basic computer, tablet, and/or smart phone usage and the ability to submit electronic timesheets are also required. Background checks will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. Physical Demands
The use of both hands and repetitive motion will be required while performing duties as a housekeeper, such as dusting and mopping, etc. This job requires a range of continual movement including traveling, kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, twisting and lifting. Application Process
