Middle School Special Education Co-Teacher/Paraprofessional

Dr. John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences School seeks a Middle School Special Education Co‑Teacher/Paraprofessional with a job‑related Associate or Bachelor’s degree. This individual will partner with the special education lead teacher in the general and special education class setting supporting children with special needs in classrooms. The needs of these students include academic and social issues related to hearing loss, vision loss, autism, health impairments, language disorders, or cognitive weaknesses. Experience with delivering a variety of accommodations in multiple settings is an asset. Ability to collaborate with various teachers and school leaders and to be a strong advocate for student needs is required. School‑related experience is desired. Position available now.

Responsibilities

Partner with the special education lead teacher in the general and special education class setting supporting children with special needs in classrooms.

Qualifications
